Our Story

In 2020 Linda and Dale Bolton decided to launch their own brand of products under the name of Bolton’s Naturals although they had been selling their topical magnesium chloride products and their Heavenly Sleep Liquid Melatonin for years under the Natural Calm Canada umbrella. They are very excited and thankful to be launching their Bolton’s Naturals website.

For her leadership as Natural Calm Canada’s CEO, Linda has been named among the 100 Top Canadian Health Influencers and has ranked for multiple years in the list of Canada’s Top Female Entrepreneurs.

100% of profits from the sale of Bolton’s Naturals products are donated to Thrive For Good, a non-profit founded by the Bolton’s, which teaches sustainable organic gardening, nutrition, natural medicine and income generation in the worlds poorest communities.

Company History

The Beginning of Natural Calm Canada

For years, Debbie Haskell of Mississauga had severe migraines. A mother with a career, Debbie struggled to cope with the pain every single week…until she discovered Natural Calm magnesium, then only available in the US.

Taking Natural Calm daily reduced Debbie’s migraines by over 90%.

Soon, Debbie’s sister, Linda Bolton, began using Natural Calm for insomnia and fibromyalgia pain. It worked! And her doctor noted significant improvements in Linda’s bone density.

Linda was so impressed with Natural Calm that in 2005 she started to import the products from Natural Vitality in the US.

Linda became the exclusive Canadian distributor and a well-known health advocate. A former Registered Nurse, she toured Canada to raise awareness of an important fact: most of us are chronically magnesium-deficient, and it’s wrecking our health.

Linda taught people around the country how magnesium deficiency creates insomnia, aggravates tension, pain and promotes disease – including heart disease.

In 2006 Linda was introduced to Dr Carolyn Dean, MD, ND author of The Magnesium Miracle, ( and several other books) who introduced her to the amazing properties of using transdermal or topical magnesium chloride as a way to increase magnesium levels through the skin. Dr Dean explained that by applying magnesium oil or gel to the skin it could transfer into the blood stream while bypassing the GI tract (which would help people who could not take magnesium internally). Dr Dean also recommended the use of the topical magnesium for people with severe magnesium deficiency and likened it to giving a person magnesium intravenously.

Linda started using the topical magnesium products and noticed a great difference in muscle cramps and overall muscle recovery. She started to do more research on the benefits of magnesium chloride for magnesium deficienciy and decided that she wanted to add the topical magnesium products to her arsenal for magnesium deficiency relief.

In 2006 Linda introduced her first transdermal magnesium chloride products to the market and in 2010 developed her own brand of liquid melatonin called Heavenly Sleep.

As Canadians discovered Natural Calm’s highly-absorbable, great-tasting magnesium, stories flowed in for both the magnesium citrate powder and also for the transdermal magnesium chloride line of products. Many of those testimonials are on
